The Star Princess is one of three sister ships offering a mixture of classical and contemporary cruise experiences. It was last refurbished in 2008, adding an adults-only lounge as well as several other features, such as an on-site bakery and Crown Grill, a restaurant offering a variety of delicious dishes.
The Star Princess offers various nightly activities, from live shows to cinema viewing, while the days are packed full of classes and duty-free shopping. Though there are places where children are not allowed to go, the ship is also chock-full of kids’ activities and teen’s programmes to keep the whole family happy. While the typical nuclear family will have a blast aboard the Star Princess, it is also a fantastic choice for a multi-generational trip across the ocean.
Dining on Star Princess
The variety and quality of the food served aboard the Star Princess is one of the high points of the ship. Some of the dining options are included in the fare, while others offer gourmet dishes for an extra fee. The style of dining varies, from open seating, which allows passengers to dine whenever they feel like it, to established routine restaurants with specific times for dining.
The number of restaurants and grills on board is beyond belief. From the Italian styled Sabatini’s to seafood and steak at the Crown Grill or a luxurious treat of caviar at the Promenade Lounge, there will be something to suit all tastes, no matter how discerning.
Entertainment on Star Princess
For family fun, this ship is hard to beat. Whether it is a nighttime showing of a film or a cabaret performance, a themed dance night in the Explorer’s Lounge or a variety show in the Princess Theatre, there is never an excuse to sit around bored during an evening on Star Princess.
Adult entertainment abounds on the Star Princess; a state of the art casino is open on deck six, while Skywalker’s Nightclub opens its doors from 10 pm every evening. Those not feeling quite so active might prefer relaxing with a drink, a book or making new friends in some of Star Princess’ cosy nooks and crannies or chilling out in Tequila’s and listening to a country and western singer.
Facilities on Star Princess
Facilities on the Star Princess are geared towards providing entertainment and relaxation for all its passengers. The public rooms are gathered around the three storey Piazza, which is located in a very central area of the ship. This is where you will find the internet café and library and above them an art gallery. Shops are situated throughout the ship and are ideal for a lazy afternoon window-shopping or purchasing souvenirs.
During its refurbishment in 2008, all of the 1,301 cabins were upgraded; over 700 of them have outdoor private balconies. All cabins have televisions, perfect for those times when you wish to take a break from all the onboard activities.
